Job Context

We are seeking technically skilled Database Administrators who are capable of holding positions of great responsibility. Being both an administrative and technical role, the Database Administrator should display both sound technical skills and administrative aptitude. You should have extensive knowledge of the databases under your administration, be the first respondent to database problems that arise and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.
  • DB incidents & Problems handling and resolution.
  • Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products.
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Take care of the Database design and implementation
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
  • Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
  • De-fragmentation, rebuild indexes, and stats gathering for the different DB tables.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, health checks, application tuning and performance monitoring
  • Setup and maintain documentation and standards
  • Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required
  • Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
  • Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
  • Patch Management and Version Control.
  • Provides technical support to application development teams. This is usually in the form of a help desk. The DBA is usually the point of contact for Oracle Corporation.
  • Perform any additional operational tasks that are upcoming during the operations Juniors and Seniors Needed.
  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certificate is a must.
  • RAC experience is a must.
  • Data Guard experience is a must.
  • PL/SQL experience is a must.
  • Data Management experience is a must.
  • ETL experience is a plus.
  • Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
  • A good knowledge of the physical database design

Educational Requirements
  • B.Sc. in computer Science and engineering from any reputed public or private university.
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science & Engineering.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 10 (Ten) year’s work experience in the related field in any government/ semigovernment/autonomous organization/reputed private sector organization and progressive experience handling large database
  • Programming skills in PHP/Java/ net framework and Android as back end.
  • Should have advanced understanding on RDBMS.
  • Should be capable of Data migration across various databases.
  • Knowledge on Oracle Forms development.
  • Certification on Oracle Database Administration.
  • Sound understanding on data management, analysis & reporting using various tools.
  • Strong communication skills in Bangla and English.
  • Past experience administering server-side technology.
Additional Requirements
  • Age: 30+
  • Both males and females are allowed to apply
  • Experience of working with a complex or large database
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience of using data to create regular and bespoke reports and dashboards
  • Confident with working with large or large ERP and MIS databases
