The Manager/Team Lead – System Administration is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and security of all Linux-based servers, databases, and associated systems. This role ensures uptime, data integrity, system optimization, and leads a team of administrators to maintain and evolve the company’s infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- System administration, hardware, Network and software management for a Microsoft Windows and Linux environment.
- Design and develop databases to support the organization’s applications and business operations.
- Develop and maintain data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor and maintain the performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- VMWare, vSphere, ESXi, resource pools, VMFS, and virtual switching.
- Storage architecture including iSCSI, LUNs, NFS, and RAID.
- Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux Server, and server hardware.
- Domain Name registry/purchase and SSL certificate purchase/maintenance.
- Server systems architecture, performance, and tuning.
- Backup and recovery procedures.
- System performance monitoring tools.
- Customer service practices that are required to meet and exceed end-user expectations.
- Implement and manage Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Implement containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) solutions.
- Manage and maintain version control systems (e.g., Git).
- In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers and Switch, printers.
- Performing multiple tasks concurrently and responding to emergency situations effectively
- Managing database access and permissions.
- Ensuring that databases meet users’ requirements.
- Manage hybrid cloud .
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Linux system and Database administration, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux.
- Proven experience in administering relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with server virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle etc.).
- Solid understanding of networking, firewalls, and security practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and team management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification(s) in CCNA, RHCSA, RHCSE, OCP, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Certified.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
