BCSIR: Web based Chemical Inventory Management System

The glorious journey of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) commenced in 1955 as a multidisciplinary research unit “East Regional Laboratories” of PCSIR. Since then this organization is being involved in performing scientific and industrial research for achieving self-reliance in industrial development.

 

Being the leading Research and Development (R&D) organization of Bangladesh, BCSIR is conducting R&D works according to the national demand and contributing to accelerate the economic vibrancy for more than 50 years. During this period BCSIR has expanded its domain to three full-fledged multi-disciplinary regional laboratories, six mono disciplinary institutes, and one center for pilot plant studies.

BCSIR is conducting R&D projects in different emerging fields of science and technology.

 

The web based Chemical Inventory System works to create efficiency and cut administration times by automating many of the tasks that people find time consuming. A Chemical Management System is a process that ensures proper compliance with safety, environmental and food safety policy. The process includes:

  • A comprehensive chemical inventory,
  • A system to manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • An approval process for introducing new chemicals to the site
  • On-site chemical management
  • Proper waste disposal.

 

Pridesys IT Limited Provided BCSIR a Web Based Chemical Inventory System where they can Store In- Charge will entry all the data of chemicals: chemical name, Quantity, manufacture date, expire date, and other relevant information: Purchase Date, Personnel of Tender Committee, Procurement method.

 

Solution: 

Scientist can requisite for necessary chemicals to the store in-charge. The requisition goes to the director for Forward/Reject/Modify. After that based on the requisition, store in-charge will check the availability of the required chemicals. If the required chemical is available, store in-charge will issued & forward it to the Lab Director; Lab director will Approved/Reject/Modify of the requestion.

After getting the request for disposal from the store in- charge Disposal committee will take necessary steps to dispose the expired chemical
